Trade Planner

Summary:

Basic Purpose
Oversee Trade funds management process for communicating budget vs. actual Trade expenditures by Division, Region and Customer - Identify promotional exceptions and communicate status to Finance and Senior Sales Management - Determine Trade spending effectiveness and research competitive programs.

Location: New York (Melville, Long Island)

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
•Manage Trade funds to drive effective programming while maintaining budgets
•Create National/Account specific Trade promotion plans for Grocery and Natural Foods - Distributor, Direct and Retail.
•Work closely with Hain Regional Business Managers and Regional VP’s to refine National promotional plans in order to address competitive pressures and Regional opportunities
•Work closely with Senior Management to determine volume and Trade budgets for Hain Regional Business Managers
•Meet with key customers as needed to assess requirements, Trade strategies and policies
•Act as primary internal contact for Hain Sales Team and source information from Operations, Marketing, Customer Satisfaction, Deductions in addition to Senior Management
•Communicate Trade Budgets and strategies to Senior Management, Finance, and Marketing
•Drive post promotional analysis utilizing Nielsen and Spins databases
•Participate in monthly, quarterly consensus forecast sessions
•Any additional responsibilities requested by Senior Management

Skills/Knowledge/Abilities
•Undergraduate degree required; Business majors preferred
•3-4 years analytics experience - Forecast Manager, Regional Business Manager or Trade experience preferred
•Consumer Packaged Goods experience preferred
•Strong computer skills in Microsoft Office programs and ability to quickly learn new systems. Knowledge in the following systems is helpful - Synectics, Business Objects, Nielsen, Spins, Hyperion Essbase
•Ability to work in a high energy work environment - strong organization skills and detail oriented
•Strong analytical and problem solving skills with ability to prioritize and remain flexible
•Strong written and verbal communication skills - self-starter with ability to work under minimal supervision
•15% Travel Required
